Eco Markets and Measures (EMM) offers expert project evaluation services to ensure that your initiatives are on track to achieve their goals and deliver impactful results. Our team includes a pool of highly skilled evaluation experts with extensive experience in assessing various projects across multiple sectors.
We specialize in evaluating programs related to:
- economic development including market systems, livelihoods, and enterprise development;
- capacity building approaches;
- small grants programs;
- localization readiness; and
- conservation/natural resource use.
Our evaluations are participatory in nature – gathering information directly from your staff and (past/potential) beneficiaries, to hear from them directly about the outcomes they are witnessing. Recommendations are based on data collected as well as the expertise of the evaluation team, particularly if a follow-on phase is expected.
In the case of market-oriented programs, the evaluation team is commonly tasked with providing recommendations for better aligning the program facilitator activities with a market systems development (MSD) approach. A clear scope of work can ensure such recommendations are included.
Whether your project involves sustainable development, social safeguards, community empowerment, environmental protections, or economic initiatives, our team can provide insightful evaluations tailored to your unique needs.
Evaluation Criteria
In need of an evaluation but unsure which type of questions to ask or which criteria to use? The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OCED) developed the following 6 criteria, setting an international standard for conducting program evaluations. 04

05

06
Sustainability
Are the benefits of the organization’s approaches and activities expected to continue? To what extent are the net benefits expected to endure?
Participatory Data Collection Methods
In addition to reviewing existing data and reports (secondary data), Eco Markets & Measures employs various techniques for engaging people impacted by your programs. Virtually or in-person, we conduct interviews, focus group discussions, beneficiary workshops and e-surveys. We help you make the best decisions regarding which techniques would prove the most optimal in terms of timeliness, transparency, and cost-effectiveness, with the best of integrity.

Interviews
EMM helps programs design and carry out virtual and/or in-person interviews with market actors, beneficiaries, and past/potential collaborators. We have ready-made interview guides, schedules and logistics planning tools for conducting interviews with various types of market actors. Each tool can be quickly customized to fit your exact situation, market, mission, and language preferences.
In need of teams on the ground to collect the data? EMM can mobilize teams on your behalf and/or supplement your existing teams in order to conduct interviews efficiently and effectively.

Focus Group Discussion
FGDs can be a helpful tool for interviewing more than one market actor at a time, for helping interviewees feel more comfortable in a group setting, to collect more information quickly, and to seek immediate validation from others in attendance. EMM is well versed in facilitating FGDs, partner engagement workshops, and the like to effectively and efficiently uncover information which informs the evaluation appropriately.
In need of guidance in conducting your own FGD or workshop? Let us know, and we can share tools we use to lead to their success.
E-surveys
EMM is well versed in various applications/platforms that can be utilized to conduct e-surveys. The design of the e-survey can be complicated, given limitations of the e-survey platforms. But with experience, this has become an effective and efficient tool, particularly for reaching large audiences with access to electronic devices for completing such surveys.
In need of a on-the-ground survey with questionnaire? We’d be happy to refer you to other organizations who focus on this type of mass survey methodology.
We focus on every detail
